MeLCat is a statewide network of over 400 Michigan libraries that you can search for books, CDs, DVDs and other materials and have them sent to the Mott Library.   Users login with the 14 digit number, above the barcode on their Mott ID card. "Advanced Search: Enables keyword and boolean searches of the catalog (MeLCat), MeL databases, selected websites, and digital repositories for books, articles, and additional content available both within and outside of MeL."

Library of Congress Classification is a system used by most academic libraries to categorize books and library materials by topic. Public libraries usually use the Dewey Decimal system. The Mott Library uses the Library of Congress Classification SystemThe Library follows LOC rules to put the "call number" on the spine of the book. The call number tells where to locate the book on the shelves


Materials of interest to OTA students are located in locations throughout the library but can mainly be found under RC-RM. Medical information is shelved under R.
