November is Native American Heritage Month. Michigan has a rich Indigenous history within the state. This LibGuide honors the culture and history of native people both in Michigan and throughout the United States by curating various resources to inform and educate.
The United States Bureau of Indian Affairs, a branch of the Fish, Wildlife, and Recreation Service officially recognizes twelve tribes in Michigan.
